Ofc. S. Christopher
Salis Named Officer Salis was assigned to assist a Natick resident in an identity fraud case. After speaking with the victim and gathering information regarding this event, it was clear that the incident was based in the jurisdiction of Boston, and that no crime had been committed in Natick. Instead of leaving the victim without assistance, Officer Salis took the time to sift through the details of the paperwork, taking into consideration the fact that the victim was a Natick resident. In reviewing the resources available to the Natick Police, he was able to successfully convince the Boston department store involved to cease and desist with legal action against the victim. This included providing updated information regarding the suspect of the identity theft, which will assist the Boston Police Department to go forward filing complaints in the City of Boston. As a result of Officer Salis’ actions and compassion for the victim, he was able to prove that Natick resident was not only innocent of accusations being brought against him as an identity theft victim, but he was also able to point the Boston Police Department in the direction of the person who was responsible. His determination and willingness to go beyond the call of duty resulted in saving a local resident a tremendous amount of grief and frustration. As a result of Officer Salis’ actions and determination to get to the truth, Officer Salis is hereby recognized, commended, and named the Natick Police Department Employee of the Month for June, 2007.
