Dispatcher Anthony
Nigro Named On October 25, 2007, Dispatcher Nigro received a 9-1-1 call from a concerned parent reporting that her juvenile son had not been heard from since he called earlier in the evening to report that he’d by home by 8:00 p.m. Dispatcher Nigro, at the start of his shift, read the daily log and recalled an earlier report of another missing juvenile. He then queried the computer and was able to find not only their names linked together, but also the names of other friends and their addresses and telephone numbers from past calls for service. The information Dispatcher Nigro was able to pass along to the officers investigating the case helped to bring about their safe and timely return to their families. Although all calls for service are of great importance, urgency in determining the welfare of a missing child rises to a unique level. As a result of Dispatcher Nigro’s proven determination and diligence in assisting the families and officers involved, he is hereby recognized, commended, and named the Natick Police Department Employee of the Month for October, 2007.
