Ofc. Toan Nguyen Named Officer Nguyen was recently dispatched to the Walnut Hill School to take a report of a past B&E to a motor vehicle. After clearing the scene he began checking the nearby residential areas. A short time later, Officer Nguyen noticed a vehicle on Washington Street with a defective tail light. Officer Nguyen activated his emergency overhead blue lights in an attempt to stop the vehicle, but the operator continued to travel slowly down Shattuck Street. The suspect vehicle then slowed down, and all three occupants exited the vehicle and fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, the defendant and one of his passengers were stopped. It was determined that the defendant did not have a valid Massachusetts Drivers License. The vehicle was later determined to have been stolen earlier that evening from Washington Street in Natick. Nothing was found in the vehicle that linked the two suspects to the breaks at the Walnut Hill School, but it is believed that they were somehow involved. Both suspects were arrested for receiving stolen property (a motor vehicle) as well as other charges including failure to stop for a police officer. Officer Nguyen is hereby recognized, commended, and named the Natick Police Department Employee of the Month for September 2007. Dennis
