Detective John Haswell Named
March Employee of the Month

Detective Haswell was assigned to a missing person case involving a young adult woman who disappeared over a year ago, leaving the family to wonder if she left of her own free will or victimized by another.  This young woman’s family began their own “investigation” resulting in the young lady’s father traveling to Chicago in search of his daughter, only to come home even more discouraged.

At some point in late January, early February, the family received information that led them to believe that their daughter was no longer alive, with the only suspect being the person with whom she left.  Her family was distraught.

Detective Haswell launched his own investigation, reassuring the family even when he had no new news to share with them.  Through his investigation, Detective Haswell was able to determine her whereabouts and reassure this family that their daughter was still very much alive and well.  Although he was unable to convince the young lady to return home to her family, at least the parents were left knowing that it’s a choice their daughter had chosen, and not one that has been forced upon her.

For his determination to bring an end to the pain and suffering of a family in crisis, as well as his resolve to secure the safety of a young woman far away from home, Detective Haswell is hereby commended and named the Natick Police Department Employee of the Month for March 2007.
