Halloran Named As the department’s juvenile officer, Detective
Richard Halloran maintains a constant liaison between the Natick Police
Department and the Natick school system. On one recent visit to Natick
High School, Detective Halloran and Vice-Principal Bertucci were
notified of circumstances where a young lady was experiencing emotional
problems to the point where she was seriously contemplating suicide.
Detective Halloran and Vice-Principal Bertucci spent some time verifying
what they had been told and, once verified, took immediate action to
intervene timely and take custody of the young lady so that an
evaluation could be made and treatment administered. The circumstances for which Detective Halloran and
Vice-Principal Bertucci were so concerned are confidential, but we are
all convinced that the decisive action taken by Detective Halloran and
the cooperation of our legal, social service, and medical system may
have provided some relief to a troubled young lady and perhaps prevented
a tragedy with devastating consequences from occurring.
Detective
Halloran is hereby commended for his actions in this case, and is named
the Natick Police Department Employee of the Month for January,
