Sgt. Paul W. Thompson Named
May 2006 Employee of the Month

Sgt. Thompson’s enthusiasm and energy was an inspiration to us all in the weeks prior to our Sixth Annual National Peace Officers Memorial Day Ceremony.  His leadership skills were key components as preparations were being made for drill practices of both the Color Guard and Honor Guard.

The positive energy Sgt. Thompson brings to the department is clearly visible on a daily basis by his willingness to eagerly accept the challenge of taking on additional tasks with a friendly and competent attitude.  He has shown himself to be a leader among his peers and a willing mentor to the newer and less experienced officers.

During the ten days prior to this year’s Peace Officers Memorial, the rain became not only an inconvenience, but a challenge to the Department of Public Works as they attempted to prepare the lawn and sidewalks where the ceremony was to be held.  Sgt. Thompson’s pride in the Natick Police Department was most clearly evident on the night before the ceremony, when he was outside, in the pouring rain, on his hands and knees planting flowers around the trees.

For his exceptional devotion to the Natick Police Department and his pride and overall understanding of the importance of a positive attitude, Sgt. Thompson is hereby commended and named the Natick Police Department Officer of the Month for May 2006.
