Officer Gregory
Lanoue Named In the spring of 2006, Officer Gregory Lanoue
became aware of the availability of grant funds from the Metrowest
Community Health Care Foundation (MCHCF). Recognizing the need for more
extensive placement of these life-saving devices, Officer Lanoue
submitted an application on the department’s behalf for additional
Automatic Electronic Defibrillators (AED's), a sufficient supply to
provide one unit for every police cruiser and others for additional
coverage at the Natick Fire Department. Application approval and grant
funding soon followed. Vendors were asked to make presentations of their
particular products and Officer Lanoue and a team from the fire
department selected the product that would serve our public safety
departments best. Most of the above mentioned evaluations took place
during September and October, 2006. As the department’s primary CPR and First
Responder trainer, Officer Lanoue continues to monitor a phased
implementation schedule of the AED's until all officers have been
appropriately retrained in CPR and use of these devices. Officer Lanoue’s continuing effort in support of
our first responder and CPR training has enabled us to provide the best
emergency response capability possible with the resources we have at
hand. His actions reflect credit on himself and the Natick Police
Department. Officer Lanoue is hereby commended and named the Employee
of the Month for the Month of October, 2006. Dennis
