Ms. Marsha Kelly Named As a Department Assistant, Marsha Kelly is responsible for many different tasks performed in our records unit. These responsibilities include transcribing police reports, preparing officers' cases for court presentation, and handling public records requests for various documents compiled by department officers and employees in the normal course of doing business. This list is certainly not all-inclusive, but generally representative of major activities in the records room. As a service agency with an emphasis on providing excellent customer service to those whom we serve, Ms. Kelly consistently provides the helpfulness we wish from all department employees. Her willingness to provide the department with assistance whenever necessary is particularly beneficial when Ms. Kelly volunteers to work on holidays so that we can meet the demands of the court, as police reports and case files must be prepared and ready for presentation irrespective of the fact that the holiday immediately preceded the day the documents must be ready for distribution. Without Ms. Kelly's cooperation, it would be difficult to prepare these documents and respond timely to these demands. Ms. Kelly is proactive in her approach to the records room responsibilities, often reminding her supervisor when extra coverage is necessary. Ms. Kelly's pleasant demeanor in her day-to-day contacts with officers and other department employees as well as the general public enhances the department's reputation as a professional service organization with a supportive work environment. For her excellence in customer service, Ms. Kelly is hereby officially commended and named Employee of the Month for April 2006. Dennis
