Rossi-Cafarelli Named
March Employee of the Month
On
February 2, 2004
Officer Cara Rossi-Cafarelli
responded to a call to investigate a report of a suspicious male trying
to gain access into a house on
Ivy Lane
. While on her way to Ivy Lane
Dispatcher Alan Glickman broadcast
additional information that an individual fitting the same description
of the male on
Ivy Lane
had broken into
and entered
20 Madonna St.
before fleeing on foot.
Officer Rossi-Cafarelli was now assigned to investigate the complaint at
Madonna St
.
While in route
to Madonna St. Officer Rossi-Cafarelli observed a white male with a
goatee, wearing blue jeans, a green sweater and a burgundy shirt in the
area of
Hartford St.
and
Blueberry Hill Road
. Officer
Rossi-Cafarelli gave her location and a description of the person she
was intending on questioning to Natick Control. She approached the
subject, told him to stop walking and began to ask him basic questions
to ascertain his identity. The subject appeared inebriated and confused.
When asked if he had just been on
Madonna Street
the suspect replied he was
just trying to get warm. He then began flailing his hands, became very
jumpy and displayed signs of imminent disorder.
Officer
Brian Ingham arrived at Officer Rossi-Cafarelli’s location and
observing the subjects behavior did a pat frisk of the suspect. Officer
Rossi-Cafarelli then handcuffed him. As a result of the pat-frisk, a
watch was found in the subject’s possession.
Officer
Rossi-Cafarelli transported the suspect back to
20
Madonna St.
to attempt
identification.
The construction company supervisor working at
20
Madonna St.
positively identified the male subject that was in the back of Officer
Rossi-Cafarelli’s cruiser as the person that entered the house through
the back door. Officer Rossi-Cafarelli then spoke with the home owner
who had been inside when the suspect entered her home. The homeowner
also positively identified the subject as the person that had gone
through her house and claimed to be a member of the construction crew.
Officer Rossi-Cafarelli completed her investigation and transported the
subject to police headquarters where he was processed for B&E in the
daytime with intent to commit a felony and placing a person in fear
For her dedication and excellence in police duty,
