Dispatcher Gary Dubinsky Named
January Employee of the Month

On December 15, 2003 , Dispatcher Gary Dubinsky assumed control of a call from an Evergreen Road resident whose wife was in the process of delivering a baby in her home. It soon became apparent to Dispatcher Dubinsky that the baby would be delivered at home and he immediately began passing on pre-ambulance arrival instructions to the husband. Almost simultaneous to receiving the call, the man reported that his wife had, in fact, given birth and she was lying on the floor with a newborn.

Dispatcher Dubinsky calmly walked the man through the birthing process so that the events transpiring would not cause undue concern for either the mother or the father. Since it seemed that the birth was natural and clinically unremarkable, other than the understandable concern and trauma from having the baby on the floor of the bathroom, Dispatcher Dubinsky properly instructed the man what to do to make his wife and newborn more comfortable while they waited for the ambulance to arrive.

The fire department ambulance arrived quickly and assumed command of this medical emergency, transporting mother and baby to the hospital.

Dispatcher Dubinsky’s knowledge as an emergency medical technician and his ability to calmly convey appropriate instruction reflect credit on himself and Natick Public Safety Dispatching

For his dedication and excellence in police duty, Dispatcher Gary Dubinsky is hereby commended and named Employee of the Month for January 2004.
