Ofc. Brian Ingham Named
November Employee of the Month

On October 15, 2004 , while assigned to Area A, Patrol Officer Brian Ingham self-initiated a motor vehicle stop, which he queried through the Law Enforcement.  The vehicle status came back as having a revoked registration.

While questioning the operator of the vehicle, Officer Ingham observed in plain view a quantity of clothes with the sales tags still attached. Officer Ingham requested the assistance of Officer Peros, who was also assigned to Area A patrol. After locating Filenes’ security, they were advised that one of the individuals in the vehicle was an employee, and the clothes had not been paid for.

At this point, the two individuals in the vehicle admitted that the clothes were stolen from Filenes and that the employee had given the clothes to his co-conspirator without receiving payment. The two individuals were subsequently arrested and transported to the NPD where they were booked, fingerprinted and processed.  The recovered property was turned over to its rightful owner, Filenes.

This crime would have gone undetected if Officer Ingham hadn’t self-initiated the MV stop.  He took it upon himself to conduct the follow up investigation which revealed the property in plain view with the sales tags still attached.

For his diligence and attention to duty, Officer Ingham is hereby commended and named Employee of the Month for November 2004.
