Officer Richard Vieira Named 
November Employee of the Month

During the month of October Officer Richard Vieira divided his duties between highway safety, where he was instrumental in the success of the Rational Speed Project, and laying the foundation necessary for the implementation of the new IMC project.

Officer Vieira, on his own, devised ways of identifying ramps and intersections that will allow accurate mapping of crash and crime locations. He then entered these locations into the IMC database which now will allow dispatchers and officers to accurately identify specific locations that had in the past not been properly identified.

Officer Vieira also entered all the business information and employee information including shift assignments for the calendar year 2003. The creation of this database, although time consuming and tedious, is essential to the operation of the IMC system.

Officer Vieira was able to accomplish these tasks while still fulfilling his primary assigned patrol task as a highway safety officer on the 4-12 shift. For his dedication and excellence in police duty, Officer Vieira is hereby commended and named Employee of the Month for November 2003.
