Officer James
Keohane Named
January Employee of the Month
On
12/28/2001
@
2057 Officer James Keohane was assigned to take a report of a stolen
motor vehicle at
7 Hemlock Dr.
,
which had been left running in front of the reporting parties’
residence. The vehicle was equipped with LOJACK. After the officer took
the initial report, dispatch entered the motor vehicle into LEAPS/NCIC.
Which activated the LOJACK signal. Almost immediately the LOJACK
receiver in Car #69 began responding with the proper LOJACK reply code.
The officer began tracking the signal and the trail was leading him into
Framingham
down Rte. 126 across Rte 135. As he began to traverse some side streets
he asked for a
Framingham
officer to accompany him inside the cruiser. His route now placed him on
the “south” side of
Framingham
,
near
Arlington St.
and
Washakum St
. He
then relayed the information to the
Framingham
officers. Officer Keohane was instructed to park in a lot off
Washakum
St.
(Corrado Const.) while Framingham PD checked the area.
Almost immediately the stolen vehicle was located on a side street, off
of
Arlington St.
, in
a driveway, unattended. Framingham Detectives set up surveillance on the
vehicle and in a very short period of time two subjects came out and
started to enter the vehicle where they were immediately apprehended. Framingham
PD was very appreciative of Officer Keohane's tracking abilities with
the LOJACK unit as their cruiser was out of service. The vehicle was
recovered without any damage and two subjects were placed in custody
without a police pursuit. For his excellent police work, tenacity and
coordination with Framingham PD during this investigation, Officer
Keohane is hereby commended and named Employee
of the Month for January 2002. Dennis
